چکیده

Abstract. Two-way model coupling is important for representing the mutual interactions and feedbacks between atmosphere ocean dynamics. This work presents development of two-way coupled system ICONGETM, consisting ICON GETM. ICONGETM built on latest NUOPC software with flexible data exchange conservative interpolation via ESMF grids. With providing a state-of-the-art kernel numerical weather prediction an unstructured mesh GETM being established coastal model, especially suited high-resolution studies. For demonstration purposes newly developed has been applied to upwelling scenario in central Baltic Sea.

An unstructured-grid, finite-volume, nonhydrostatic, parallel coastal ocean simulator

A finite-volume formulation is presented that solves the three-dimensional, nonhydrostatic Navier–Stokes equations with the Boussinesq approximation on an unstructured, staggered, z-level grid, with the goal of simulating nonhydrostatic processes in the coastal ocean with grid resolutions of tens of meters. In particular, the code has been developed to simulate the nonlinear, nonhydrostatic int...

Combination of Adaptive-Grid Embedding and Redistribution Methods on Semi Structured Grids for two-dimensional invisid flows

Among the adaptive-grid methods, redistribution and embedding techniques have been the focus of more attention by researchers. Simultaneous or combined adaptive techniques have also been used. This paper describes a combination of adaptive-grid embedding and redistribution methods on semi-structured grids for two-dimensional invisid flows. Since the grid is semi-structured, it is possible to us...

Application of an Unstructured Grid-Based Water Quality Model to Chesapeake Bay and Its Adjacent Coastal Ocean

To provide insightful information on water quality management, it is crucial to improve the understanding of the complex biogeochemical cycles of Chesapeake Bay (CB), so a three-dimensional unstructured grid-based water quality model (ICM based on the finite-volume coastal ocean model (FVCOM)) was configured for CB. To fully accommodate the CB study, the water quality simulations were evaluated...

Grid of the Grids

This document describes issues related to running a heterogeneous, but production-level Grid. It is based on experience gained running and maintaining heterogeneous GridLab testbed as well as large ad hoc demonstration testbeds. The Grids discussed in this document are built not using dedicated machines or clusters, but their building blocks are other Grids or their parts. Last amendment date: ...
